About this experience

Discover the mighty sandy dunes of the Erg Chebbi desert on this 3 days tour, where you will also have the opportunity to see the breathtaking Dades gorges, red colour canyons carved out by the Dades river and other amazing places such as Ait-Ben-Haddou, the most popular filmmaking location in the region. Day 1

After an early pick up from your accommodation, our tour will begin driving towards Ourzazate up to High Atlas Mountains and crossing the Tizi nTichka pass at an altitude of 2260mt (7410 ft) above the sea level with a few stops along the way to enjoy the breathtaking views from the mountains.

We then descend to the Ounila valley and you will have some free time to visit the Ait-Ben-Haddou kasbah, a World UNESCO Heritage Site and also a favourite Hollywood film location. Some famous movies such as Gladiator and Babel were filmed here and more this location was used to represent the slave-trading city of Yunkai in the Game of Thrones.

After lunch we continue to drive towards the desert and discover other amazing places, such as Skoura, famous for its oasis and for its numerous incredible kasbahs and the Valley of Roses, renowned for the festival of the roses which takes place each year early in May.

We will reach the Dades gorges in the late afternoon, where we you will spend the night in a hotel, with dinner and breakfast included.

Day 2

Our journey to Merzouga continues today after breakfast and our first stop will be Tinerhir , a town situated at the entrance of the Todra Gorges. You will have sometime to visit this town accompanied by a local guide and discover its kasbah and abandoned 19th century Medersa and the spectacular canyons of the Todra Gorges.

After lunch and a couple of hour’s drive, we will finally reach Merzouga, on the edge of the mighty sandy dunes of the Erg Chabbi desert.

Here it is where your camel trek towards your bivouac will begin and you will have the opportunity to admire a spectacular sunset over the desert.

You will enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner under the stars with locals playing Berber music and spend the night in your own equipped tent.

Day 3

You will wake up early in the morning to enjoy a spectacular sunrise over the desert and after breakfast you will ride your camel back from the desert camp.

Our driver will meet you at a designated point and your journey back to Marrakech or Fez will begin, with an early evening arrival.
